An Evening of Devised Theatre
Original Devised Pieces Created by Members of Our Community
What is devised theatre?
Devised theatre is a theatrical practice which seeks to create new works in unconventional ways. Rather than beginning with a predetermined script written remotely by a playwright, an ensemble will generate the script or the staging of a piece as a team. Each of our teams will be lead by an exciting, young theatre artist through improvisational activities, collaborative discussions, and a diverse range of creative methodologies over the course of 8 hours of rehearsal to devise three brief, original pieces to present to the public.
Free and Open to the Public
One night only!
Friday, May 18th at 7:00PM
East Bridgewater Public Library
32 Union Street, East Bridgewater
This program is made possible in part by the Bridgewater Cultural Council, a local agency sponsored in turn by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
